I was shaken. I couldn’t talk for the next week. I couldn’t sleep at night. Just the thought of his face swirling around my head was enough to gives me nightmares.
It was a normal Saturday morning. Mum had asked me to go to the shop to get milk. The only way there from my house was through a small park. Excitedly I set off, with the lure of buying a treat with the change. The route was isolated, only the sound of birds chirping sang in my ears. I had almost reached the edge of the park when all of a sudden a rather suspicious – looking man in a car pulled up beside me.
My tummy twisted. My mouth went dry. Panic filled my body but my mind was empty. With a smug grin on his face he leaned out of the car window and he proceeded to ask me for directions. Nervously and reluctantly I stepped forward to tell him. Fiercely he grabbed my arm and aggressively pulled me into his car. Scared I asked him “what do you want with me?” “Please let me go”.
He pulled up outside a house. Determined, I thought here’s my chance to get away. I kicked the door open angrily and ran as fast as I could. The adrenalin made me run five times faster. I ran into the nearest house. They asked “what’s wrong?” “what’s wrong?”. Shaken, I told them to ring the guards and contact my mum.
Eventually my mum arrived to pick me up. With immense relief, I ran over and gave her a big hug. The guards told me they had managed to catch the kidnapper. I was elated to be back home. I won’t give directions ever again. Mum brought me for an even bigger treat.
