EXPLANATION.

Equation of straight line.

⇒ y = 5x + 12.

As we know that,

Taking y - axis it means x = 0.

Put the value of x = 0 in the equation, we get.

⇒ y = 5(0) + 12.

⇒ y = 12.

Their Co-ordinates = (0,12).

Taking x - axis it means y = 0.

Put the value of y = 0 in the equation, we get.

⇒ (0) = 5x + 12.

⇒ 5x = - 12.

⇒ x = - 12/5.

⇒ x = - 2.4.

Their Co-ordinates = (- 2.4, 0).
