Given : A straight line segment is 36 cm long.

To find : number of points

Explanation:

here ,

The length of the line = 36 cm

points are marked as 1, 2, 3 and.. so on to n

then 'The series formed is

1,2,3...

and

1+2+3 +....n = 36

thus

\frac{n(n+1)}{2}= 36 \\\\n( n+1) = 72 \\\\n =8

therefore ,

The number of points starting from A is 7 and also starting from B also have number of points = 7

The points between A and B will coincide

thus

The total number of points are

7+ 7 = 14

hence , Total number of points are 14
