A straight rod partially immersed in water seems bent what is the reason

When a straight rod is immersed in water it looks bent because of an amazing physics concept called refraction, which is the bending of light when it moves from one medium to the other.

Hence, when one sees inside the water, one thinks it is the rod which is bending whereas in real, it is the light that is bending, not the rod.
