a streamer goes downstream and covers the distance between two parts in 6 hours. while it covers the same distance upstream in 8 hours.if the speed of stream is 2km/h , find the speed of streamer in still water

let speed of streamer be x
speed of stream be y
speed of upstream =(x-y)km
speed of downstream=(x+y)km
time taken over upstream= 2/x-y = 8hrs

hence (x+2)6=d-------->1

and x-2 will be speed of boat in upstream
