Answer:

Explanation: We know

Distance = speed × Time

∴ In 1 hour = 3km

In   10hours= (10×3)km

                    =30km

Speed = Distance ÷ Time

           =  30km ÷ 10km/h

           = 3km/h

Answer:

57 km / hr, 530 km.

Explanation:

time taken downstream = 9 hr.

and upstream = 10 hr.

speed = 3 km/hr.

let the speed of a streamer in still water be x km/ hr,

distance downstream = 9(x+3 )km

upstream = 10 ( x- 3) km

ATQ

10 ( x-3 ) = 9 (x+3)

10x - 30 = 9x + 27

10x - 9x = 27 + 30

x = 57

hence, speed of streamer in still water

= 57 km / hr.

and distance =

= 9 (x+3)

= 9 ( 57+3 )

= 9 × 60

= 540 km.
