Length of one piece

Number of pieces can be cut= total length of string / length of one piece

$= \frac{ \frac{55}{2} }{ \frac{11}{4} }$

$= \frac{55 \times 4}{11 \times 2}$

$= 5 \times 2$

=10 pieces
