- A string is wrapped around a stationary hollow cylinder of radius 40 cm and mass 3 kg and being pulled by apply a tangential force of 30N to rotate the cylinder about its geometrical axis. Find the produced angular acceleration.​

Explanation:

Torque about centre  line of cylinder

  = F×R = Iα

  = 30 × 0.4 Nm

I = MR²

  angular acceleration (α)

                      = F / MR²

                      = 30 × 0.4 / 3 × (0.4)²

                      = 25 rad/s²
