Given : A string of length one metre away cut into five equal parts .

To Find : The length of half of one such piece?

How many centimeters?

Solution:

Length of string = 1  m

Cut in 5 equal parts

=> Length of 1 part = 1/5 m

=> Length of 1 part  = 0.2  m

length of half of one such piece = 0.2/2  m

=>  length of half of one such piece = 0.1  m

The length of half of one such piece = 0.1  m

1 m = 100 cm

0.1  m = 0.1  * 100  = 10 cm

The length of half of one such piece  in cm = 10
