A string vibrates with a frequency of 500 HZ. If the distance between a crest and the next trough is 10 cm then find the velocity and time period of the wave.

Please answer this it's really Urgent. Please help. ​

Given :-

  • Frequency (f) = 500Hz
  • Wavelength (λ) = 10cm = 10/100m = 0.1m .

To Find :-

  • Velocity (v) = ?
  • Time period (t) = ?

Solution :-

  • Find velocity of wave.

=> V = f × λ

=> V = 500 × 0.1

=> V = 50m/s .

  • Find time period of wave.

=> f = 1/t

=> 500 = 1/t

=> t = 1/500

=> t = 0.002 sec.
