A student added a piece of aluminium metal to ferrous sulphate solution.What would be the change in color of solution not color of the metal deposited.Justify your answer

Answer: The color of the solution will change from blue to colorless.

Explanation:

When the student added the piece of aluminium metal to the solution of ferrous sulfate, the color of solution will get decolorized from blue to colorless.This is because aluminum lies above the iron in the reactivity series as shown in the image attached which means that aluminum will easily displace iron from its salt solution. Hence, leading to the formation of aluminium sulfate which is colorless.

The pale green colour of iron sulphate will be faded and changes into a colorless aluminum sulphate
