A student added few pieces of aluminium metal to two test tubes A and B containing aqueous solutions of iron sulphate and copper sulphate. In the second part of her experiment, she added iron metal to another test tubes C and D containing aqueous solutions of aluminium sulphate and copper sulphate. In which test tube or test tubes will she observe colour change ? On the basis of this experiment state which one is the most reactive metal and why.

as aluminium is more reactive than iron it displaces it from its salt solution hence forming aluminium sulphate. and aluminium is reactive than copper also it also displace it forming coppersulphate.and no reaction will be there in second case.

Answer:

He will observe color changes in test tubes A and B as aluminum displaces iron and copper   from their respective salt solution.

A color change will also be observed in test tube D as iron displaces copper but does not displace aluminum.

No colour will take place in C as Fe cannot displace Al from Al2(SO4)3 .

From the above observations we can conclude that aluminum is the most reactive metal.
