A student conducted an experiment to show CO₂ is released during respiration.
For obtaining correct observations, following precautions should be kept in mind:
1. Always use freshly prepared KOH solution and as KOH is corrosive so handle it carefully.
2. The experiment set up must be air-tight.
Hopefully it helps. Thanks.

Carbon dioxide is released during respiration by plants. This can be proved by an experiment by taking germinating seeds in a plant in a flask.
KOH solution is kept inside the flask with the help of a thread. In another beaker coloured water is kept. The rise in the level of the water is observed.
For the experiment, the following precautions must be taken.
Precautions:
1. Keep the conical flask airtight.
2. Fix the shorter end of the glass tube in such a way that it does not touch the seeds.
3. Use freshly prepared KOH solution.
Hope this helps
