According to me when a student the pH paper in rain water collected from the industrial area it might be pinkish in colour .

why would it be pinkish in colour :-

The atmosphere near the industrial area is acidic in nature due to presence of lot of chemical and pollutions . The industry secrets lot of unwanted chemical which get dissolves in atmosphere . Now when a student pH paper on the rain it will show pink colour because of acid present in atmosphere due to industry .
