Answer:

Given :- A student divided a line of length 9cm in the ratio 2:3 geometrically as shown in the figure. The correct lengths of AM and MB obtained by calculation are respectively equal to

A 6.3cm and 2.7cm

B. 3.5cm and 5.5cm

C. 3.6cm and 5.4cm

D. 2.8m and 6.2cm

Solution :-

→ Total length of line AB = 9 cm.

since point M divides line AB in ratio 2 : 3 . Let us assume that, AM is 2x cm and MB is 3x cm .

so,

→ AM + MB = AB

→ 2x + 3x = 9

→ 5x = 9

→ x = (9/5)

then,

→ Length of AM = 2x = 2 * (9/5) = 18/5 = 3.6 cm .

→ Length of MB = 3x = 3 * (9/5) = 27/5 = 5.4 cm .

therefore, Option (C) is correct answer .
