Total no. of qs. = x+y
250= x+y
y= 250-x ------------(i)
Then,
3x-y/2=477
6x-y/2= 477
6x-y =477×2
(put y= 250-x from equation i)
6x-(250-x) = 954
6x+x =954+250
7x= 1204
x=172

Since,x+y=250
y= 250-x
y= 250-172
y= 78
Hence student attempted 78 questions wrong.
