Student’s score in English is 60, Physics is 50 and Economics is 90, marks each out of 100.
Since each paper is of 100 marks and we have English, Physics, Economics and Maths, therefore the overall marks will be 400.
For scholarship he needs to obtain 72% of 400.
Let the student’s score in Math’s be “x” marks.
According to the question we have,
60 + 50 + 90 + x = 72% of 400
Or, 200 + x = 72/100 * 400
Or, x = 288 – 200 = 88 marks
Hence, he needs to obtain a score of 88 in his final paper of Maths.
