Solution :-

Let total marks be= x

23 % of x + 15 = 35% of x - 21

35x/100 - 23x/100 = 36

12x/100 = 36

x/12 = 36

x = 432

432 is the maximum marks

Minimum passing marks = 23/100 × 432 + 15

=>Minimum passing marks = 114.36

pass percentage = 114.36 /432 × 100 = 26.47%

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Given A student got 23% mark and failed by 15 marks another student got 35% marks and passes by 21 marks find the maximum mark,passing percentage& passing mark

So let us consider the equations

23% of x = y - 15

35% of x = y + 21

So solving equations we get

23 x = 100 y - 1500

35 x = 100 y + 2100

------------------------------

- 12 x = - 3600

x = 300

Minimum marks is 300

Again 23/100 x 300 + 15

69 + 15

= 84 will be the minimum passing mark

84/300 x 100

= 28% will be the pass percentage
