A student has three resistances
R1 = 3Ω, R2 = 6Ω
and an unknown resistance R3. She connect them in parallel circuit

out of these three, The current she obtained in the entire circuit was found by her to be 5A. Calculate the unknown resistance R3. voltage is 5v

Explanation:

Given:

R1 = 3Ω

R2 = 6Ω

R3

I(Current) = 5A

V(Voltage) = 5V

In parallel circuit, I varies and V is constant. So,

I1 +I2 +I3 = Total current(5A)

→V/R1 + V/R2 + V/R3 = 5

→5/3 + 5/6 + 5/R3= 5

→(10+5+30)/6R3 = 5

→45/6R3 = 5

→6R3 = 45/5

→R3 = (45/5)/6

→R3 = 9/6

→R3 = 1.5Ω

I guess the answer is 1.5 Ω

Hope it helps!
