maximum \: height =  \frac{ {u}^{2} }{2g} \\  \\ maximum \: range =  \frac{ {u}^{2} }{g}  \\  \\ given \: that -  \\  \\  \frac{ {u}^{2} }{2g}  = 40 \\  \\  \frac{ {u}^{2} }{g}  = 80
hence max. range is 80 m
