Answer:

density = mass/ volume

5915gm/523.805cm^3

density = 11.3

therefore it is lead

The softball is of lead metal

Volume of the softball = (4/3)Пr³, where r is the radius of the metal.

Given, r = 5cm.

So, volume of the soft ball = (4/3)П(5)³ cm³

= 523.81 cm³

Mass of the ball = 5.915kg = 5915 g

We know that Density = Mass/Volume

Putting all the values, we get,

Density = (5915/523.81) g/cm ³

= 11.29 cm³

The density of lead metal is equal to 11.34 cm³, so this metal is lead.
