- on drawing black lines on the surface of the lens there will be decrease in the luminous intensity of the image that is formed by the lens. However if a part of the lens is opaque that does not lead to change in the colour of the object that is formed. the luminous intensity of the object is directly proportional to the area of the lens.
- As the black areas are drawn the resultant area of the lens decreases and hence the intensity of the object also decreases
