a student multiplied a number by 3 by 5 instead of 5 by 3 what is the percentage error

Let the number be x. It should be multiplied by 53 . So result  would be 5x/3 . But it is multiplied by 35 , so the result is 3x/5 . % change = changeoriginal value×100 =5x/3  − 3x/5 5x/3×100=16x/155x/3×100  =1615×35×100 = 64% change .Hope this would have cleared your doubt
