Answer:

We need to find out

We need to find out by how much was his answer greater than the correct answer?

Solution

As per the given conditions

The student had to multiply 9596 by 95

So , 9596 × 95 = 911620 i ) which is correct one

But the student multiplied by 59

So , 9596 × 59 = 566164 I) which is wrong

Hence the difference between the correct and the incorrect value can be calculated by subtracting the two above obtained equations (i) and (ii). That is

9596 × 59 - 9596 × 95

Taking out 9596 as common factor

9596 { 95 - 59 }

9596 ( 36 )

9596 × 36

345456

Therefore , the first answer was greater than the second one by the value 345456 . ( ans )

Hope it helps you
