A student needs to connect a fuse with the following set of
arrangement of resistors. He has fuses of 1A, 5A, 10A with him. What
should be the appropriate rating of the fuse to be used in the circuit?
Justify with the help of calculations.

Why did he choose to connect the fuse wire in series and not in parallel in
the above circuit?

please help me

Answer:

I dont have answer. But I know about fuse.

FUSE is used to prevent short circuit. In the above circuit there is chances to short circuit. Here two resistor are connect with series and one is connected with parallel to each other. so to prevent short circuit or any type of loss he used fuse.

Answer:

10A fuse would work.

Explanation:

Resistance in parallel combination-

1/R = 1/4+1/2 = 3/4

R = 4/3 ohm

V = IR

I = V/R = 12×3/4 = 9A

So a fuse greater than 9A will work

thus we will use 10A

The same amount of current should flow through the fuse thus it should be connected in series.

Hope this helps :)
