Dividing the pizza

Given:

  • The first pizza was cut into 2 equal slices.
  • The second pizza was cut into 6 equal slices.

To find: Possible way to find equal slices for both the pizzas.

Solution:

  • First pizza = 2 slices
  • Second pizza = 6 slices
  • Ratio of slices for each pizza = 2 : 6 = 1 : 3
  • So the first pizza was 1/3 rd less slices of the second pizza.
  • If we cut each of the two slices of the first pizza into 3 slices, we get 2 × 3 = 6 slices.

Answer: Cut each of the two slices of the first pizza into 3 slices.

Answer:

Slice each piece of first pizza, equally into three further pieces

Step-by-step explanation:

As per given information, one pizza was cut into 2 slices while the other pizza was cut into more pieces which were 6.

Now second pizza has 3 times more slices than first pizzas. So in order to make equal slice portions of each pizza, we need to cut slices of first pizza each piece of first pizza, equally into three further pieces
