Sol: Deshelled eggs are prepared by placing the egg in dilute HCL acid for 10 hours. Now the egg is covered with only semipermeable membrane. When this is placed in a salt solution (hypertonic solution), exosmosis occurs and the egg shrinks due to loss of water to the surrounding. If the water concentration inside the cell is higher than the surrounding medium, the medium is said to be hypertonic solution. Here, the number of water molecules diffusing out will be more than the molecules entering the cell. The cell will shrink due to exosmosis.
