A student prepared solution of acid and base in two separate beakers. He forgot to label the solution and litmus paper not available. How will he distinguish between two.

take a bit of water and a bit of acid ,the acid will dissolve but the base wont as it has to be an alkali to get dissloved in water...

A student prepared solution of acid and base into separate beakers. If he forgot to label the solution and Litmus Paper is not available then he should use turmeric, universal indicator, red cabbage, phenolphthalein and methyl orange to indicate the acid and bases.

For Example:- If he use phenolphthalein, and put it few drops of phenolphthalein into both the beakers then he will observe that pink colours shows basic solution and colourless shows acidic solution.
