A student prepared solutions of acid and a base in two separate beakers. She forgot to label the solutions and litmus paper is not available in the laboratory..since botg the solutions are colourless how will she distinguish between tge two?

put few drops of turmeric in both the beaker. the base will turn turmeric to brick red and there will be no change in turmeric which is put in acid

First cover the both the beakers from a cap. After sometime see the cap off the both beakers. You see the caps are different. 1 cap is very thin layer of the dirt on its covering side where the another is clean. The dirty cap is the base and the clean cap is the acid. By this process we conclude that which is base and which is acid.
