A student recorded the mass of dry raisins as20g and the mass of raisins after soaking as35g.calculate the precentage of water absorbed by the raisins? why did the raisins absorb water?

Answer:

mass of dry raisins = 3g

mass of raisins after soaking = 4.8g

mass of water absorbed = 4.8 - 3 = 1.8 g

% of water absorbed = (1.8/3)*100 = 60%

Precaution:

Keep the raisins inside the water, not on surface

weight of raisins before soaking=20g
weight of raisins after soaking=35g
weight gained by raisins=35-20=15g
percentage of gain=15/20 x100
=3/4 x 100
=75 percent
