Given : A student said that the line join by P(-2,1) and Q(2,5) subtend an angle with x-axis is 45

To find :  Is Statement Correct or not

Solution:

line join  by P(-2,1) and Q(2,5)  subtend an angle

45° with x-axis

Slope of line  = Tan (angle with x axis)

=> Slope of line  = Tan 45°

=> Slope of line = 1

line join  by P(-2,1) and Q(2,5)

Slope of line  = ( 5 - 1 )/(2 -(-2))

= 4/4

= 1

Both Slopes are same

Hence We agree that

line join  by P(-2,1) and Q(2,5)  subtend an angle 45° with x-axis
