Solution :-

Let us assume that, the marks scored by him in Mathematics is x .

so,

→ Marks scored in 1 language = 65

→ Marks scored in science = 50

→ Marks scored in social science = 55

→ Marks scored in maths = x .

then,

→ Total marks scored in all four subjects = 60 + 50 + 55 + x = (170 + x)

now,

→ Average marks = Total marks / 4

A/q,

→ (170 + x)/4 = 60

→ 170 + x = 60 * 4

→ 170 + x = 240

→ x = 240 - 170

→ x = 70 marks (Ans.)

Hence, the marks scored by him in Mathematics is 70 .
