A student scores the lowest marks in
Mathematics. The marks scored in
Science were three times that of
Mathematics and six times that of English.
Find the minimum marks the student
should score in Mathematics, so that he
gets an average of at least 66 marks,​

Let the marks scored in Mathematics be x

Then the marks in Science = 2x

and the marks in English = x + 3x = 4x

Average = fraction numerator straight x plus 2 straight x plus 4 straight x over denominator 3 end fraction greater or equal than 70

7x ≥ 210

 x ≥ 30

So the student must score atleast 30 marks in Mathematics.
