A student secured 96 marks in the first term and 108 marks in the second term . What is the percentage increase in the marks ? Please give me the answer with detailed solution.

Given marks secured in first term = 96
Marks secured in second term = 108
Increase in marks = 108 - 96 = 12
% increase in marks = (12/96) x 100
= 12.5%
