a student set up an apparatus for finding boiling point of water at Shimla. the thermometer is accurate but it shows the boiling point to be 97 degrees Celsius.the reason is?

Pressure is directly proportional to temp. Normally, boiling point of water is 100° celsius but it decreases due to decrease in air pressure at higher altitude.
