its because of diffusion and if we smell ammonia we will realize an irritation in our eyes and nose so, when the children opened the window the smell of ammonia chloride gets mixed with the atmosphere thus the children got releived and the flow of molecules from the region of high concentration to the region of low concentration level is called as diffusion
