A student want to obtain an erect image of an object using a concave mirror of 12 cm focal length.what should be the range of distance of the object from the mirror? state the nature and size of the image is likely to observe.

To answer this problem , we must have knowledge of all the possible location of Object where it is to be placed and Image formed corresponds to these possible location...

Concave mirror forms Erect image only in one case when object is placed between the Pole and Principal axis...

Since focal length of a concave mirror is 12cm so the range will be 0 to 12cm...This mean if we place an object in between this range we always get erect image ( see snap )..

Nature of image will be Virtual and erect and size will be larger than object size ( See snap )..
