Answer:
Activity on osmosis
Aim:
To explain osmosis by the ‘egg osmometer’.
Requirement:
Egg membrane, HCI, graduated tube, water through, sugar solution and stand.
Activity:
- Prepare an egg membrane with the assistance of dissolving it away in dilute HCI by thoroughly removing waterproof shell of egg.
- Remove all the egg's yellow fat and protein content by creating a hole at its one end.
- ‘Fill the sugar solution’ through the hole in the egg membrane and fit into the hole a graduated tube.
- Place the entire device in a water-filled trough.
- Type in anything that you want. Then click Quill It on the right to paraphrase your input.
Results:
The tube level rises due to the reality that the sugar solution's osmotic pressure in the egg membrane is greater than that of water, so that the water from the trough moves through the ‘egg membrane’ into ‘the sugar solution’ and thus raises its level. ‘Egg membrane’ is a membrane that is semi-permeable.
