. A student was asked to divide a number by 3 and add 6 to the quotient. She, however, first added 6 to the number and then divided it by 3 getting 112 as the answer. What is the number she should've ended up with?

6+x/3=112

6+x=112×3

6+x=336

x=336/6

(x=56)

the number is six

dividing by 3 to the number we get

56/3=18.6

adding 6 to quotient

18.6+6=24.6

the number she should have ended up with is 6
