Pale green solid salt can contain Iron in it.
Yellow colour gas evolution is Chlorine.
Hence the required salt Is FeCl3[Iron[III] Chloride]

Thermal decomposition of Iron [III] Chloride salt gives:
2FeCl3 2Fecl2 +Cl2
Yellow gas chlorine is seen as product.

On adding Zinc to FeCl2 , the green colour of salt fades away by giving Zncl2 salt and Fe is displaced.

Zn(s) +FeCl2(aq) ---->Fe(s) +Zncl2 (aq)
