Dear Student,

◆ Answer -

v = 24 km/hr

● Explanation -

As the student travels same path back & forth distance will be same. i.e. s1 = s2 = s.

From home to school,

t1 = s1 / v1

t1 = s / 20

From school to home,

t2 = s1 / v2

t2 = s / 30

Average speed of the bus will be calculated as -

v = (s1 + s2) / (t1 + t2)

v = (s + s) / (s/20 + s/30)

v = 2 / (20+30/20×30)

v = 2 × 600 / 50

v = 24 km/hr

Therefore, average speed of the bus is 24 km/hr.

Thanks for asking.

Therefore, average speed of the bus is 24 km/hr.
