Answer:

1.5 km of water would that submarine have gone.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given, a submarine goes 50 meters below sea level every minute.

So we can say movement of submarine is 50 meters in 1 minute.

Now we want to find How many km of water would that submarine have gone after half an hour?

We know

1 \: km = 1000 \: m

By Unitary method,

1 \: m = \frac{1}{1000} \: km

50 \: m = 50 \times \frac{1}{1000} \: km \\ = \frac{1}{20} \: km \\

Now we have to find movement of the submarine in half an hour.

half an hour = 30 \: minutes

Here in 1 minute , movement of the submarine is \frac{1}{20} \: km

By Unitary method,

in 30 minutes, movement of the submarine is

30 \times \frac{1}{20} \:km \\ = \frac{3}{2} \: km\\ = 1.5 \: km

Here we used Unitary method.
