Submarine submerges at the rate of =5m/min

descend starts from = 20m

submarine have to reach = -250m

Distance between above sea level to below sea level = 250 + 20 = 270m

time taken to reach 270 m = 270/5= 54 minutes

The time taken by the submarine to reach 250 above sea level is  54 minutes.

Given,

A submarine submerges at a rate of 5m/min. It starts descending from 20 m above sea level.

To Find,

The time taken by the submarine to reach 250 m below sea level.

Solution,

The submarine starts descending from 20 m above the sea level

So,

The total distance which the submarine has to reach is 250+20 = 270 m

Now,

The rate at which the submarine submerges is 5 m/min

So,

The time taken by the submarine to reach 250 above sea level is

Time = 270/5 = 54 minutes.

Hence, the time taken by the submarine to reach 250 above sea level is  54 minutes.
