Explanation:

The substance is an element i.e. Carbon

Explanation:

1. Any carbon compound on heating in abundant oxygen produces some carbon dioxide *with some other substances*.

Eg: a) hydrocarbon on heating give carbon dioxide and water

b) metal carbonates decompose to give CO2 and metal oxide

2. The substance that produces only carbon dioxide is carbon

Carbon + oxygen -> carbon dioxide

Because the question satisfies the reaction stated above, the substance is element carbon

Hope it helps!!
