Anwers according to oder:

1)A catalyst is a substance that alters the rate of a chemical reaction but it remains chemically unchanged afterwards. The catalyst increases the rate of the reaction by providing a new reaction mechanism to occur with in a lower activation energy.

2)All metals above hydrogen in the activity series will displace hydrogen from an acid.

3)Oxidation

Oxidation involves removal of an electropositive atom, radical, or electron or, conversely, the addition of an electronegative moiety. These reactions are usually catalyzed by oxygen, heavy metal ions, and light, leading to free radical formation.
