Answer:

A substance which readily forms colloidal solution when it comes in contact with water is called Hydrophilic colloid.

Explanation:

A colloidal dispersion in which the dispersed particles are more or less liquid, exerting a specific attractive force on a specific particle and absorbing a specific particle.

The amount of liquid  they are suspended in is called a hydrophilic colloid.  The molecules hydrates when dispersed in water. The hydrated colloid swells and increases the viscosity of the system.

This improves stability by reducing the interaction between the particles and the tendency of the particles to settle.  The sign of the charge  depends on the chemistry of the colloid and the pH of the system. The presence of  surface charge causes repulsion of charged particles, reducing the chances of the particles sticking to each other.

Some examples of hydrophilic colloids used in pharmacies include acacia, methylcellulose, and gelatin and albumin.
