A substance ‘X’ is used in white-washing. When mixing with water, 'X' it converted into 'Y' and it is rubbed on wall for white-washing. after some time 'Y' convert into substance 'Z' by reacting CO2 gas. Identify ‘X’ 'Y' and 'Z'.​

when calcium oxide is mixed with water it forms Y i.e.calcium hydroxide            [Ca(OH)2]

When calcium hydroxide is rubbed on walls for white washing it converts in Z i.e. calcium carbonate (CaCO3) and water is also formed. So, X is calcium oxide ,Y is Calcium hydroxide and Z is Calcium carbonate
