The substance x used in kitchen for making tasty and crispy pakora and it is also an ingredient of antacid, the name of the substance x is sodium hydrogen carbonate or sodium bicarbonate the substance x helps to make cakes and breads soft because when substance x that is sodium hydrogen carbonate reacts with an acid namely tartaric acid carbon dioxide and water is formed along with sodium salt of acid.

The carbon dioxide produced here make the cake fluffy, spongy and soft.

Now sense the substance x is an antacid which neutralize the effect of acid in our stomach so hence the substance x is a mild base and obviously its PH will be greater than 7
