A substance X when burs in the presence of oxygen forms a substance Y which can extinguish fire. Find X & Y

if the situation is so X maybe hydrogen. and when it burns in the presence oxygen it produces water (I.e., y)
Y can extinguish fire.
H² + O² --> 2H²O
(here, 2 is in superscript but it should be in subscript )
