A substance X which is an oxide of a metal is used intensively in the cement industry . This element is present in bones also. On treatment with water it forms a solution which turns red litmus blue. Identify X and also write the equation for its chemical reaction with water.

X...is calcium oxide (Cao)

It reacts with water to form aquas solution of ...slaked lime (Ca(oH)2)

Cao + H2O. -------------> Ca(OH)2

The elements"Calcium Oxide" present in human body which in part of Bone.

When we treat it's with water turned into red to litmus because it's basic in nature .

When Calcium Oxide reacts with water then:-

Cao+H20-----> Ca(OH)2
